Fumigation & Timber Compliance

Imported cargo secured with wood packaging materials is subject to strict inspections under the ISPM 15 standards. Compliance guidelines include:

• Methyl Bromide Treatment: All timber pallets, crates, and dunnage must undergo certified heat treatment or fumigation, carrying official IPPC stamps.
• BICON Permit Filings: Importers must verify import conditions using the BICON database for products containing plant materials (such as bamboo or raw paper).
• Clean Packaging Declarations: Submitting signed packing declarations verifying that container interiors are clean and free of biological contaminants.

Sourcing Compliance Recommendations
